Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a Healthcare Support Worker for Ward 47, Plastic Surgery Unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role involves supporting nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centered care in a busy clinical environment.

You will assist with daily living activities, observe patient conditions, and help maintain a clean, safe ward. NHS sponsorship may be possible; informal discussions with the named contact are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare or caring role.
• Caring, compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work flexibly in a busy and changing clinical environment.
• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.
• Willingness to complete relevant clinical competencies, including venepuncture and cannulation, with training support provided where required.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered care alongside nurses and other staff.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, promoting dignity, comfort and independence.
• Observe, report changes in patient condition, maintain a safe, clean care environment.
• Contribute to patient safety and quality standards within the multidisciplinary team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues.
