Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Bath and North East Somerset is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join the Medicines Optimisation Team supporting inpatient services across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire, based at Savernake Community Hospital. The role is 22.5 hours per week, offering a patient-centred, cost-conscious approach to medicines management.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law and medicines legislation.
• Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across BaNES.

Responsibilities

• Support cost-effective prescribing and medicines budget management.
• Reduce medicines wastage and support medicines optimisation.
• Provide medicines-related advice to clinicians, nursing staff and patients.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation and medication reviews.
• Review inpatient prescription charts prior to pharmacist verification.
• Ensure timely supply of medicines and support discharge.
• Maintain stock control and communicate availability.
• Support safe management of Controlled Drugs.
• Counsel patients on safe medicine use and side effects.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement.
