Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker for the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The role includes labeling, dispensing, ward stock management, and patient-facing duties within a ward-based setting.

You will work with pharmacists to ensure safe medicine supply, manage ward requisitions, and support nursing staff with medicines housekeeping. NHS benefits and flexible working options are highlighted in the program.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an aseptic unit or manufacturing environment.
• Completed current competency and knowledge based qualifications e.g. S/NVQ Pharmacy Level 2 or equivalent.
• Willingness to complete TSET modules and in-house training plan.
• High accuracy levels.
• Ability to communicate in clear spoken English and effective written and verbal communication.
• Commitment to CPD and ongoing training.
• Experience interacting with people in various situations.
• Ability to organize daily tasks and work to set procedures.
• Stock management experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Label and dispense medicines that have been clinically screened by a pharmacist for inpatients and outpatients.
• Input ward requisitions through the pharmacy stock control system and perform stock checks.
• Coordinate ward stock medicine top-up services and support nursing staff with medicines housekeeping.
• Advise on stock levels and minimise waste by identifying slow-moving stock.
