Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites applications for a Pharmacy Support Worker at Glasgow Royal Infirmary to ensure safe, effective medicine supply. You will label and dispense medicines for inpatients and outpatients, and input ward requisitions in the stock control system.

The role involves stock checks, top-up coordination, and supporting nursing staff with medicine housekeeping. Applicants should have National 5/Standard Grade incl.

Qualifications

• 3 Standard Grade Qualifications including English and Maths.
• SVQ Level 2 Pharmacy qualification is desirable and can be learned on the job.
• Experience in healthcare/pharmacy or customer-facing role.
• Proficient IT skills including word, excel, outlook.

Responsibilities

• Label and dispense medicines that have been clinically screened by a pharmacist for inpatients and outpatients.
• Input ward requisitions through the pharmacy stock control system; participate in stock checks and expiry date checks.
• Coordinate ward stock medicine top-up services and assist nursing staff with medication housekeeping.
• Advise on stock levels and adjust to usage figures; minimise waste on wards.
