Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a part-time Ward Assistant for the Acute Medical Unit at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The role involves administrative duties, dealing with supplies, and communication with patients and relatives, supporting ward operations.

The successful candidate will work with the Senior Nursing and Medical teams, with day and night rotations and weekend cover. Full training in NHS Scotland computer systems will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with administrative tasks in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential.
• Familiarity with basic hospital computer systems is desirable, with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Handle administrative duties, order and monitor supplies, answer telephones, and communicate with patients and relatives.
• Support ward flow and coordinate with nursing and medical teams.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
