Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking caring individuals to join the Extra Care Scheme Rose Manor in Ketley Village, Telford, on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. You will support elderly residents, helping with personal care and mobility while encouraging social engagement.

This role offers night shifts, a strong emphasis on privacy and dignity, and full training including Care Certificate and dementia care. Be part of a values-driven team at Radis Community Care.

Qualifications

• Experience in care/support work preferred.
• Ability to respect privacy and dignity.
• Willingness to work unsocial hours.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly individuals in Extra Care Scheme to maintain independence.
• Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing and mobility.
• Encourage participation in social activities and facilitate safe movement around dining areas and bedrooms.

About the role

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You’ll help the people we support - who can often have have restricted mobility - to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You’ll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing – this will mean you’ll understand the importance of privacy and dignity – so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with the people we support, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Week 1 Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 19:45pm to 08:00am

Week 2 Monday, Thursday and Friday 19:45pm to 08:00am

Pay Rates: Nights £13.90 per hour
