Job summary

Radis Community Care is seeking a Waking Nights Support Worker for the Stirchley House Extra Care scheme in Telford. You will support elderly residents who need help due to frailty, helping them maintain independence and dignity.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, and accompany residents to meals, activities, and private spaces, always with kindness. Full training and support are provided, including Care Certificate and dementia training, with weekend rota and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Support elderly residents with mobility to dining areas and social spaces.
• Assist with personal care including washing, hygiene and dressing while preserving privacy and dignity.
• Encourage participation in recreational and social activities with residents, individually or as a group.
• Provide support on waking nights and follow the rota, including weekends.

About the role

As a Waking Nights Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You’ll help residents with restricted mobility to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You’ll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing – this will mean you’ll understand the importance of privacy and dignity – so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with residents, and as a group.

And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!
