Job summary

Brightening Lives in Whitby is seeking a dedicated Waking Nights Support Worker to assist an individual with complex health needs through night hours. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, administer medications, and respond to seizures as part of a supportive, compassionate team.

The role requires reliability to cover 2–3 waking nights per week, including alternate weekends, with a focus on safety, dignity and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex health needs.
• Experience providing personal care.
• Experience with manual handling.
• Experience administering medication.
• Experience supporting people with epilepsy and seizures.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support throughout waking night shifts.
• Support with personal care needs.
• Support safe manual handling and mobility.
• Administer medication in line with training and care plans.
• Support individuals with epilepsy and respond appropriately to seizures.
• Monitor the person’s health and wellbeing throughout the night.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and support guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
• Promote dignity, privacy, choice and independence.
• Respond to changes in health or wellbeing.
• Communicate concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the person you support.
