Job summary

CareTech Community Services is hiring a Waking Nights Childcare Worker in Newmilns, Kilmarnock. You will support young people with daily routines, provide nurturing and therapeutic care, and work with a supportive team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.

The role requires a warm, patient approach, excellent communication, and a full UK driving licence. Training and progression opportunities are available, along with a welcoming home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient and a great listener with a passion for helping young people.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Willingness to develop and pursue SSSC qualifications with team support.
• Demonstrated ability to evidence skills and knowledge to support traumatised children.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines for young people, including mornings and homework.
• Provide consistent, nurturing and therapeutic care to children/young people who have faced trauma.
• Collaborate with colleagues and professionals to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
• Participate in team meetings, training and reflective practice sessions.
