Job summary

Amegreen Children’s Services is seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to provide care and support for children with a focus on structure and safety. The role involves lone night work, maintaining records, and preparing the home for the following day.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, safeguarding, and supporting children through challenging times, while ensuring hygiene and wellbeing are maintained. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required.

  • Being intuitive to children’s needs, both physical and emotional
  • Being alert to any indication of stress or abuse and reporting accordingly
  • Promoting good personal hygiene among all children
  • Communicating with other staff and Managers
  • Listening, guiding, and advising children sensitively, offering comfort during challenging times and sharing their joy when appropriate
  • Being aware of Child Protection issues, guidelines, and procedures
  • Carrying out administrative duties and maintaining accurate records and reports

Job description

About the Waking Night Support Worker role:

As a Waking Night support Worker, you will act as a positive role model for the children within Amegreen Children’s Services, offering care and support based on structure, consistency, and nurturing as part of day-to-day living, always ensuring the safety of each child. As part of the Waking night role, you will be expected to complete required admin work as well as cleaning the home ready for the following day. This is a lone working role.

Key responsibilities as a Waking Night Support Worker:

  • Being alert to any indication of stress or abuse and reporting accordingly
  • Promoting good personal hygiene among all children
