Job summary

Spark of Genius is seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our Oaklea home in Ormiston, Scotland. You will help young people with daily routines, school readiness, meals, and activities, delivering consistent, compassionate support.

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system; training will be provided. A full UK driving licence is required and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

  • Previous care experience preferred.
  • Desire to work toward SSSC qualifications.
  • Manual UK driving licence is essential.

  • Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
  • Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements
  • Be part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects

£27,976 unqualified - £29,036 with an SVQ or HNC - £33,259 with SVQ and HNC per annum

What You’ll Do

As a Children\'s Residential Support Worker you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.



  • Ensure our children receive the highest level of support

  • Support senior staff with timely updates

  • Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach

  • Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements

  • Be part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping

  • Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support

  • Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects


New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.

  • Previous experience is preferred or maybe you have cared for a friend or family member
