Job summary

CareTech UK Ltd in Solihull is hiring a Waking Night Support Worker on a 12-month maternity cover. This temporary role provides 35 hours weekly on a rota, with a rate of £12.79 per hour.

You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs in a person-centred way, ensuring safety and wellbeing during night shifts. Applicants should be caring, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team, with DBS and willingness to pursue a health & social

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards a health & social qualification
• Experience in a care environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Experience with using a hoist and dealing with Complex Physical Health

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays

Waking Night Support Worker (12months Maternity Cover)

Location: Solihull

Rate: £12.79 per hour

Temporary | Fixed 12month Contract | 35 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Yorkminster Drive

Yorkminster Drive is a supported living environment which provides care and support to people with learning disabilities and complex physical health. Applicants will ideally have a background in supporting individuals with complex physical health needs and experience in the use of hoists, either within a supported living or residential background.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
