Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Wake Night Support Workers for Chestnut Road in West Norwood, London. You will provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, helping with daily living skills and promoting independence.

We offer full training, DBS check paid, and progression opportunities. You will work a rota including nights, weekends and bank holidays, with supportive team and a focus on empowering residents to live as independently as possible.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by employer)

About the Service

Chestnut Road is situated within Norwood Supported Living. The layout of the property with a staff office at the entrance enables individuals to live as independently as possible whilst retaining the required level of support to meet their needs. Chestnut Road offers 10, 1 and 2 bedroom flats over 3 floors offering 13 bedrooms in total.

The service provides support to individuals with: A Learning Disability A Mental Health Need Other Complex Needs. Chestnut Road is within easy walking distance from all local amenities and has great access to all bus and train links with central London just 20 minutes away.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

We're seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we'll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
