Diamond Search Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Residential Childcare Worker for a waking night role in Littleover, Derby. The position offers a 4 on, 4 off rota and a salary around £29,700–£31,620 per year, with potential bonuses tied to Ofsted assessments.

The role involves providing safe, trauma-informed care to children and young people, conducting welfare checks, and supporting routines while maintaining high safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• 6 months' experience in residential care or similar settings.
• Experience supporting young people with behaviours that challenge.
• Willingness to work waking nights and stay awake.
• Existing right to work in the UK — sponsorship not available.
• Level 3 Diploma or willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Work waking nights from 10pm to 8:30am on a 4 on/4 off rota.
• Support children to feel safe, settled and reassured overnight.
• Carry out welfare checks and attend handovers.
• Respond calmly to distress or challenging behaviours.
• Support morning routines and prepare youths for the day.
• Maintain accurate night records and incident reports.
• Work with safeguarding and Ofsted standards.
