Job summary

Paragon Social Care in Howden le Wear is seeking compassionate Children’s Support Workers to help children and young people thrive. You’ll provide trauma-informed care, build trusting relationships, support education, life skills and independence.

You’ll contribute to safe, stable environments, participate in safeguarding, and join a team that values training, progression, and flexible working patterns. This role involves driving, safeguarding checks, and a commitment to empowering youth.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary).
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car.
  • Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience.
  • Flexibility to work waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
  • Flexibility to work waking nights, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

A relevant qualification (such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care) is desirable but not essential — we’ll support the right people to grow.

What You’ll Get

Excellent pay

  • £17.50ph - £24.00ph PAYE Rate (including holiday pay)
  • £20.00ph - £28.00ph Umbrella Rate
