Job summary

The Standard, London is seeking a Waiter to join its high-energy restaurant team at Kings Cross. You will deliver attentive service across multiple venues, guiding guests through food and wine selections with warmth and professionalism.

We seek candidates with full-time availability, a flexible schedule (Mon–Sun) and the ability to thrive in a busy, late-night environment from Thurs to Sat. Prior waiter experience and a passion for hospitality are essential.

Your role

As a Waiter at The Standard, you will become part of an exceptional restaurant team. You will therefore need to be passionate about service and very well organised, with a strong working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations and the order of service.

You will also need to be knowledgeable about (and interested in) great food and wines to confidently guide our guests and enhance their experience. You will be enthusiastic about learning new wines and seasonal dishes, highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; dynamic, vivid, and engaging. Whilst prior experience as a Waiter is essential for this role, you will also need…

• The ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel or high-quality restaurant
• Confidence in guest experience, restaurant operations, and the order of service
• Knowledgeable and interested in wine (relevant qualifications such as WSET are a plus), as well as great food
• Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
• Flair for service and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests
• Available full-time and fully flexible Monday – Sunday, as well as able to work late-night (Thurs-Sat, 2am)
• In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries
