Job summary

The Standard, London is seeking an experienced Bartender to join our Ground Floor team at Kings Cross. You will mix signature cocktails, manage wine and spirit recommendations, and deliver memorable guest experiences in a high-energy setting.

We require passion for service, strong knowledge of bar operations, and the ability to thrive on a busy night pace while maintaining hospitality. Full-time with late-night availability Thu-Sat and Mon-Sun flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Bartender or Cocktail Bartender with the ability to engage diverse guests.
• Proven mixology skills with knowledge of spirits, classic and contemporary cocktails.
• Wine knowledge and interest, WSET a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve signature and classic cocktails, wines, beers and seasonal specials to guests across multiple spaces.
• Provide exceptional service, guide guests based on preferences, and maintain high energy in a busy setting.

Double Standard restaurant and bar has become best known for its famous burgers, DJs, boozy brunches, guest chefs and BBQ's, all enjoyed in the 70s-inspired bar space or in the sun‑soaked terraces. The Library Lounge is our cosyest corner, and a hub for our music and cultural programming.

Isla restaurant and terrace is an indoor‑outdoor garden oasis with a Modern British & European menu of seasonal small plates, minimal‑intervention wines, and signature cocktails.

Your role

As a Bartender at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional bar team based in our ground floor bars, serving signature and classic cocktails, wines, beers, and seasonal specials for our restaurant, library, garden, and terrace.

You will, of course, be passionate about service, with an exceptional working knowledge of bar operations and order of service; along with a deep appreciation of quality wines, champagne and spirts in order to guide and make recommendations to guests based on their preferences. The bar team will also create and mix a range of signature cocktails in addition to mixing and blending of all the classics, to add a touch of personality and theatre to our guests’ experience.

Finally, and most importantly, you will be a host, making our guests feel welcome whilst they visit The Standard and our energetic and vibrant city; so you will need to be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and can manage multiple tasks and guest with ease.

As a Bartender at The Standard you will need to have miles and miles of personality, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team. In addition to this you will also need...

• Prior experience as a Bartender or Cocktail Bartender with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, destination cocktail bar or similar busy city bar
• To be a confident mixologist with a proven knowledge of spirits, well versed in both classic and contemporary cocktails with a good understanding of the latest trends in the London bar scene
• Knowledgeable and interested in wine (relevant qualifications such as WSET are a plus)
• To be highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
• Available full-time with full flexibility to work Mon-Sun, as well as late night Thurs-Sat
• Prior experience using Simphony POS is advantageous, although full training will be given
