Job summary

British Transport Police is seeking a Vulnerability Manager to lead the Public Protection team in Leeds or Birmingham. The role oversees safeguarding services, risk assessment and response to vulnerability referrals across the force, with a focus on children, adults at risk and mental health concerns.

The post offers a permanent, full-time contract (37 hours) with a blended home/office working arrangement, based at either Birmingham or Leeds.

Qualifications

• Experience in safeguarding/public protection.
• Proven leadership of professional teams.
• Ability to manage multi-agency safeguarding environments.
• Experience handling sensitive information and making decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and manage a team of Vulnerability Unit staff, ensuring effective service delivery.
• Ensure adherence to safeguarding obligations through assessment and management of referrals.
• Provide expert advice to policing teams on safeguarding matters.
• Oversee prioritisation and QA of public protection submissions.
