Department: 61-155 - Broadcast - Broadcast Engineering

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: UK - London

Reporting To: James Pearce

Description

Why Join DAZN?

At DAZN, we're changing the way the world experiences sport. Delivering thousands of live events and hours of on-demand content to millions of fans globally requires world-class broadcast technology, resilient operations and continuous innovation.

As our global broadcast and streaming capabilities continue to evolve, we're investing in the next generation of intelligent, automated media workflows that will transform how content is acquired, processed, managed and distributed.

We're looking for a VP Media Orchestration & Automation (Broadcast) to lead this transformation across DAZN Group, including Foxtel, Kayo Sports and Binge where applicable.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of broadcast technology, combining Artificial Intelligence, workflow orchestration, cloud infrastructure and software-defined media operations to create a more efficient, scalable and resilient global broadcast ecosystem.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Own the global strategy and multi-year roadmap for broadcast automation, AI and media workflow orchestration, aligning technology investment with DAZN Group's broadcast, streaming and operational priorities.
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale orchestration architecture connecting ingest, scheduling, playout, MAM/PAM, media supply chains and multi-platform distribution across live and file-based workflows.
  • Lead the modernisation of legacy broadcast workflows, introducing API-driven, event-based automation across SDI/IP, SMPTE ST 2110 and cloud-based video infrastructure to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive the practical adoption of AI and Machine Learning across media operations, including automated quality control, metadata enrichment, content segmentation, highlights generation, anomaly detection and predictive scheduling.
  • Establish intelligent monitoring and operational resilience through centralised telemetry, observability, SLA reporting and self-healing workflows, improving service availability and reducing incident resolution times.
  • Partner with Broadcast Engineering, Operations, Product, Data, Security and Technology teams to define technical requirements, influence architectural decisions and deliver scalable, production-grade solutions.
  • Own the evaluation and selection of orchestration, automation and AI technology partners, managing strategic vendor relationships and ensuring investment decisions deliver measurable operational and financial returns.
  • Lead complex transformation programmes from initial concept and technical design through to deployment, adoption and ongoing optimisation, ensuring solutions meet the demands of high-volume live sports broadcasting.
  • Act as a senior technical authority across DAZN Group, influencing stakeholders, establishing engineering standards and helping develop the capabilities, processes and operating models required to support long-term transformation.
What You'll Bring:
  • Significant senior-level experience within broadcast engineering, media technology, streaming or broadcast operations, ideally within a global broadcaster, OTT platform or major media organisation.
  • Proven experience defining technology strategy and delivering large-scale broadcast automation, media workflow orchestration or digital transformation programmes.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of enterprise orchestration platforms such as DataMiner, SDVP, AWS Step Functions or proprietary media workflow engines.
  • Deep technical understanding of live broadcast and streaming architectures, including SDI/IP, SMPTE ST 2110, cloud video infrastructure, MAM/PAM, playout, contribution and distribution.
  • Practical experience applying AI/ML technologies to media operations, including automated QC, computer vision, speech-to-text, metadata enrichment, anomaly detection or intelligent workflow automation.
  • A track record of taking complex technology solutions from concept and proof of concept through to reliable, highly available production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of observability, telemetry, incident management, service assurance and resilient system design, particularly within business-critical live environments.
  • Experience managing strategic technology vendors, evaluating commercial proposals and building business cases that demonstrate measurable ROI and operational improvement.
  • Exceptional communication, technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams across a global organisation. Experience in live sports broadcasting, multi-brand media environments and AI governance would be advantageous.
