Job summary

SMBC Group in London seeks a Chief Data & Analytics Office Business Partner (Vice President) to bridge business needs with the CDAO. You will translate requirements, shape demand, and drive measurable value across data initiatives aligned to the EMEA data strategy.

You will engage senior stakeholders, manage backlogs, and ensure governance, adoption, and reporting are integrated into the data roadmap. This role offers hybrid working and a dynamic, inclusive environment at SMBC Group.

Qualifications

• Proven track record working with business units (e.g., Front Office, Risk, Finance).
• Strong communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Solid understanding of data governance, quality, lineage, analytics and AI.
• Experience shaping roadmaps and prioritisation frameworks with business/data strategies.
• Experience operating in complex, matrixed organisations.
• Experience defining and tracking value and KPIs.

• Providing the bridge between the business and CDAO – align data initiatives to priorities.
• Shape and prioritise demand – translate needs into clear value-driven use cases.
• Drive value realisation – define, track and deliver measurable outcomes.

• Support governance – promote data ownership, quality and compliance.
• Coordinate delivery – ensure smooth execution with business and Data Office teams.

• Communicate and report – provide progress, risks and outcomes.
