Job summary

SMBC Group in London invites applications for an EMEA Compliance Data Governance Vice President to lead data governance within Compliance. You will shape strategy, define data ownership, and partner with technology teams to improve data quality and regulatory readiness.

Operating in a matrix, you will collaborate with data owners, risk, and IT across EMEA, reporting to the Director. A strong background in banking data governance and regulatory topics is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in data governance within a financial institution
• Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, ownership and controls
• Ability to translate technical data concepts for senior management

Responsibilities

• Drive and strengthen data governance across Compliance data assets
• Define and monitor data quality metrics and KRIs
• Support data ownership, stewardship and lineage across EMEA
• Collaborate with Technology, Data Management Office and risk teams
• Ensure regulatory requirements are translated into business data requirements
