Job summary

James Fisher and Sons Plc is seeking a Voyage Operations Team Leader to manage and develop a team of Voyage Operators, delivering technical and commercial support for safe and efficient voyages. The role combines leadership with hands-on operational oversight and a strong focus on regulatory compliance.

You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, oversee governance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance across voyages and services.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of chemical and oil tanker operations is essential.
• Experience leading or supervising a team.
• Experience in Voyage Operations, Chartering, Ship Brokerage or Port Agency is preferred.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to make sound operational decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Voyage Operators, providing day-to-day line management and performance oversight.
• Deliver technical and commercial support across voyage operations activities.
• Manage third-party service contracts (tug, port agency, bunkers).
• Monitor legislation and ensure compliance with Group policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead governance activities, including environmental reporting and Group reporting.
• Provide out-of-hours Voyage Operations support on a rotational basis.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
