Job summary

Healthwatch York is seeking a part-time volunteering coordinator on a fixed-term contract until 15 October 2027 to support people with mental health and wellbeing through volunteering.

You will encourage and empower volunteers, help them build confidence, develop skills, and connect with communities via meaningful volunteering opportunities, including one-to-one and group support. The role requires excellent communication and record-keeping to monitor outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting volunteers or delivering one-to-one and group-based support.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with people facing barriers to participation.
• Experience monitoring outcomes and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and support volunteers to build confidence and develop skills.
• Help volunteers connect with communities through meaningful volunteering opportunities.
• Build partnerships with voluntary, community and health sector organisations.
• Monitor outcomes and maintain accurate records of volunteering activities.
• Coordinate schedules and report on impact.
