Job summary

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is seeking aVolunteer Coordinator to lead the volunteer journey from enquiry to onboarding, training, support and recognition. The role is based at Rainbows Hospice, Loughborough, with occasional travel across the East Midlands.

Hours are 37.5 per week, full‑time and permanent, with some evenings and weekends for Rainbows events. You will work closely with the Head of Volunteering to translate strategy into day‑to‑day practice, build strong

• Experience coordinating volunteers or people in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Comfort with using data and systems to support work.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer recruitment, onboarding and induction.
• Support and guide volunteers throughout their volunteering journey.
• Deliver volunteer training and development opportunities.
• Advise colleagues on volunteer involvement and good practice.
• Coordinate volunteer communications, engagement and recognition activities.
• Maintain volunteer records and compliance processes.
• Use feedback and data to improve volunteer experiences and ways of working.
