Job summary

A Touch of Gentleness CIC is seeking a volunteer coordinator to support the local volunteer community across East Sussex. This remote role involves acting as a consistent point of contact, welcoming new volunteers, and maintaining records while collaborating with the CEO and Events Coordinators.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a warm disposition, and the ability to work independently within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, listening and people skills.
  • A warm and open disposition.
  • Organised, reliable, responsive and solution-orientated.
  • Basic IT skills (email, google forms, WhatsApp).
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Working in partnership with the CEO and Local Events Coordinator(s) to support the volunteer community.
  • Welcoming and supporting newly qualified volunteers, helping them feel valued, confident, and connected as they begin their volunteering journey.
  • Providing ongoing encouragement, guidance, and a listening ear.
  • Serving as a consistent point of contact for volunteers.
  • Keeping up to date volunteer records.
  • Liaising with the Events Coordinator to identify and recruit volunteers for events and activities when needed.
  • Helping to foster a culture of kindness, care, connection, and mutual support throughout the volunteer community.
