The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty. With 20 years of experience in advocacy, it has supported the passage of bills benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.

Position: Advocate

This is a great entry-level volunteer position for individuals eager to contribute to The Borgen Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an ambassador for the world’s poor. Build awareness of issues and ways to help.
  • Manage and implement fundraising campaigns.
  • Represent The Borgen Project in your city—attend events and engage people in the cause.
  • Contact government leaders to support key poverty-reduction programs.

Location: U.S., U.K., and Canada

Salary: Unpaid

Duration: 3 months

Hours: 4 hours per week

Start Date: Flexible; new programs start every month, you choose your start month.
