Job summary

Austen Lloyd Limited is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Contract Disputes team within the Volume Litigation department. You will manage your own caseload from start to finish, handling matters through the courts, mediation, and ADR where appropriate.

You will assess prospects, meet SLAs and KPIs, contribute to knowledge sharing, and work in a flexible hybrid model with at least two days in the office.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor or CILEX practitioner with relevant contract disputes experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills under pressure and able to manage deadlines.
  • Proactive caseload management with strong regulatory understanding and client care.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join a growing legal services organisation that has experienced a period of positive change and sustained growth across its Litigation and Dispute Management teams. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join the Contract Disputes team, which sits within the wider Volume Litigation department. As a Senior Associate, you will manage your own caseload from start to finish in a commercial and pragmatic manner. This will involve resolving matters through the courts and litigation process, as well as through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods where appropriate. You will also be responsible for carrying out early assessments of the prospects of success for each claim and ensuring that matters are handled in accordance with relevant legal expenses insurance policy requirements. The role also involves supporting a culture of efficient and effective case management, taking ownership of client issues through to resolution, and working to meet service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial targets. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing and best practice within the wider team. This role operates on a hybrid working model, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. The position is ideally full-time, although part-time arrangements may also be considered.
