Job summary

Flotek in the UK is seeking a Comms Specialist Engineer (Desk-Based) to provide high‑quality remote support across VoIP, connectivity and data networking. This desk-based role suits an experienced comms helpdesk engineer with strong troubleshooting and customer communication skills.

You will be the main contact on the helpdesk for telecoms queries, resolve issues, escalate when needed, and ensure service delivery for internal and partner environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in Teams voice and VoIP support
• Understanding SIP, RTP, NAT and VoIP fundamentals
• Basic routing, switching, VLANs and firewall concepts
• Excellent communication and customer-first mindset
• Willingness to on-call during weekends

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for telecoms incidents and log faults in line with ITIL.
• Manage tickets within SLAs and keep clear documentation throughout incident lifecycles.
• Take ownership of incidents and escalate to carriers with clear diagnostics when needed.
• Diagnose and resolve VoIP issues across SIP trunks, handsets, routers and circuit connectivity.
• Liaise with external providers to progress faults and drive timely resolution.
• Identify service outages and latency issues and minimize customer impact.
• Document known issues and workarounds in the Knowledge Base for CSI.
• Provide clear updates to customers and stakeholders during incidents.
