Job summary

Mears Group plc seeks a Multi Skilled Operative to cover void properties and deliver high-quality repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and more. You will work across social housing projects to prepare homes for tenants, ensuring safety, functionality and high standards.

You will need a full UK driving licence and a flexible, customer-focused approach. The role includes a company van, fuel card and uniform as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating).
• Full UK driving licence and ability to work across multiple sites.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills; excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs across void social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Repair internal doors, handles, locks and hinges.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues; carry out plastering and tiling repairs.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish; ensure safety and quality.
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency rota and report additional works.
