Job summary

The Mears Group is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative to join our responsive repairs team in Liverpool. You’ll carry out repairs across carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and more in social housing properties, delivering quality work with safety and customer service at the forefront.

Role requires NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently as part of a team. Monday to Friday, standard hours, with some travel as needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player capable of working independently.
• Flexible and willing to travel.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors.
• Repair or replace internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks and dripping taps.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings.
• Complete wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing.
• Paint and decorate to a professional finish after repairs.
• Ensure all repairs are done safely and to a high standard.
• Work in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs.
• Attend training sessions when required.
• Record job details and materials used using handheld devices.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle.
• Manage daily workload to meet service targets.
