Job summary

Radius is seeking an experienced Voice Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve our voice and telephony platforms. You will manage SIP trunks, SBCs, call routing and cloud telephony while ensuring resilience and security across the environment.

Based in Crewe with a hybrid pattern of 3 days per week in the office, you will work on enterprise voice architectures, investigations, and performance optimization to deliver reliable voice services for the business.

Qualifications

• Degree with minimum 2:2.
• Proven experience with enterprise voice and collaboration platforms.
• Strong SIP-based voice solutions experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone incl. Direct Routing/Operator Connect.
• Excellent SIP signalling, RTP and VoIP understanding.
• Experience with Session Border Controllers.
• Carrier connectivity and SIP trunking knowledge.
• Experience with cloud telephony and contact centre platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex voice and call quality issues.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, firewalls, routing.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain enterprise voice and UC platforms.
• Manage SIP trunks, SBCs, call routing and dial plans.
• Support cloud telephony and contact centre platforms.
• Maintain voice platform availability, resilience and performance.
• Investigate voice incidents and resolve service requests.
• Troubleshoot SIP signalling, media flow and call quality issues.
• Work with providers to resolve carrier issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Support telephony migrations and upgrades.
• Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity for voice services.
• Monitor voice environments and performance metrics.
• Produce reports and maintain documentation.
• Develop voice engineering standards and best practices.
