Job summary

Principal Education's client college in Stanwell, Staines, is seeking a Horticulture Tutor to help young people aged 16 to 25 develop practical skills and confidence. You will lead garden sessions, adapt tasks for diverse learners and integrate core skills into meaningful work.

You will be welcomed by a small, supportive team with strong SEN focus, and there are temp-to-perm opportunities with a competitive daily rate paid weekly.

Qualifications

• Real horticulture experience with RHS qualification or hands-on work in gardens/landscaping.
• Experience teaching, training or supervising others in an educational setting.
• Patience, warmth and calmness when working with young adults (16–25).
• DBS clearance or willingness to apply.

We're recruiting a Horticulture Tutor for a small, friendly specialist college in Stanwell, Staines. The college supports young people aged 16 to 25 with EHCPs, many of them with ASD, and horticulture is at the heart of what they do.

As their Horticulture Tutor, you'll help students grow practical skills, confidence and independence for the next stage of their lives.

What you'll do as Horticulture Tutor

• Plan and lead practical sessions in the college gardens and grounds
• Break tasks into clear, simple steps so every learner can take part
• Build English, maths and work skills into real tasks
• Track progress and celebrate every win, big or small

What we're looking for

• Real horticulture experience: an RHS qualification, a land based college course, or hands on work in gardens, grounds or landscaping
• Experience teaching, training or supervising others, such as FE lecturing, volunteer groups or Forest School
• A patient, warm and calm manner with young adults
• SEN experience is a big plus, but not essential. If you know your plants and have the right attitude, we'll support you with the rest
• A child and adult barred list DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
