Job summary

OpenGate Education seeks a Vocational Lead Teacher for Tees Valley to shape a new alternative provision. You will deliver practical, hands-on learning in small groups and individuals, and craft vocational pathways that connect skills with qualifications and employment.

The role supports students with SEND/SEMH needs and works with the Head of Centre to coordinate site activity. The post combines teaching with leadership, offering an opportunity to help shape the provision from the ground up and

Qualifications

• This role requires a recognised teaching or coaching qualification and vocational expertise.
• Experience engaging young people who need a different approach to learning.
• Ability to lead and shape a new provision from inception.

OpenGate Education is looking for a creative, committed teacher to help shape the vocational offer at our new alternative provision.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver engaging, hands-on learning to small groups and individual learners
• Develop vocational pathways that connect practical skills with qualifications, employment and everyday life
• Support young people with SEND, SEMH needs and other barriers to education
• Work alongside the Head of Centre, supporting colleagues and site co-ordination
• Build links with employers, colleges and partners to create meaningful next steps.

We’re looking for someone with a recognised teaching or coaching qualification, vocational expertise and experience of engaging young people who need a different approach to learning.

This is an opportunity to combine teaching with leadership and help shape a new provision from the beginning.

• Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
