Job summary

KM Recruitment is a specialist UK wide recruiter for the Skills and Employability sectors. The role of Functional Skills / Employability Tutor - Term Time is based in Derby and is a full-time, permanent position limited to term time (45 weeks per annum).

You will deliver learning programmes including Employability Skills, Maths and English, and provide progression paths with vocational certificates at entry level to level 2.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching qualification is required, such as AET/PTLLS or equivalent.
• Level 2 in Maths and English – Functional Skills or equivalent.
• Experience of supporting and delivering training to learners with barriers to education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality learning programmes including Employability Skills, Personal and Social Development, Maths and English and a Vocational certificate/qualification pathway.
• Deliver to small groups of learners on-site.
• Work with learners to create and update individual learning plans in line with EHCP targets.
• Ensure robust initial assessment to inform ILP and RARPA.
• Ensure learners receive relevant work experience in line with planned learning.
• Build strong relationships with learners offering support, advice and guidance.

Salary:£24,000 - £31,000 dependent on experience (Full Time Equivalent is £27,000 - £36,000)

Duties

• Deliver high qualitylearning programmes to include; Employability Skills, Personal and Social Development, Maths and English and a Vocational certificate/ qualification pathway at entry level to level 2(such as Business Admin; Customer Service; Retail; Hospitality; Health and Social Care; Childcare and more)
• Deliver to small groups of learnersonsite.
• Work closely with learners to create and update individual learning plans in line with individual and EHCP targets.
• Ensure each learner receives a robust initial assessment in order to inform and update the ILP and RARPA framework.
• Ensure all students receive relevant work experience in line with their planned programme of learning.
• Build good relationships with learners offering support, advice and guidance throughout their learning journey.

Essential Criteria

• Hold a level 3 Teaching qualification as a minimum such as AET/PTLLS
• Hold a Level 2 in Maths and English – Functional Skills equivalent
• Experience of supporting and delivering training to young people who have experienced barriers to their lives and education.
• Knowledge and understanding of the multiple barriers young people face and be able to develop support mechanisms / interventions.
