Job summary

Bradford Music & Arts Service, the lead organisation for the West Yorkshire Music Hub, is seeking a casual vocal teaching post. The role focuses on individual and group teaching, choir direction in schools, and involvement in concerts and performances.

The post requires an Enhanced DBS check, a valid driving licence, and access to own transport. You will be part of a supportive team with opportunities for training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Current driving licence and access to own transport.
• Experience teaching pupils and directing choirs or ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Teach pupils individually and in groups.
• Tutor and direct choirs or ensembles in schools and music centres.
• Deliver whole class instrumental and continuation schemes.
• Take part in concerts and performances.
• Motivate pupils and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor, assess and keep records of progress.
• Seek innovations in instrumental and vocal teaching.
• Follow safeguarding framework and use digital technology for information sharing.
• Advise teachers, parents and schools.
• Decide when to enter pupils for examinations (Music Medals, ABRSM or other boards).
• Attend team meetings and share good practice and training.
