Job summary

Blackpool Council’s Vitaline Community Alarm Centre is recruiting for a dedicated, flexible individual to monitor and respond to alarms and emergencies. The role supports vulnerable people to stay in their homes with improved safety and independence.

Core hours are variable between 07:00 and 22:20, seven days, with out-of-hours duties and a requirement for a full driving licence. DBS checks and Right to Work in the UK are mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Keyboard skills and a full driving licence are essential.
  • Disclosure & Barr ing Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications and proof of Right to Work in the UK required.
  • Previous experience could be an advantage, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monitoring and emergency response to customers, either through personal contact or via communication equipment.
  • Provide an out of hours service to other Council Departments.

Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 22.89 per week Salary: NJC Grade D SCP 7-11 £27,274 - £29,071 per annum, plus 2 increments for unsociable hours

Vitaline is Blackpool’s Community Alarm Centre. We are dedicated to supporting independent living through the use of the most advanced forms of technology available and through person-to-person contact through our Mobile Warden service.

Your role will be to help vulnerable people keep or regain their independence and stay in their own home with an improved quality of life.

We are looking for a motivated, flexible, and resilient ‘people person’ who is able to adapt to change in a fast moving, innovative and customer focused service.

Your duties will include providing a monitoring and emergency response service to our customers either through personal contact or via communication equipmentand to provide an out of hours service to other Council Departments. Keyboard skills and a full driving licence are essential for this post.

Core hours for this post are variable shifts between the hours of 07.00 to 22.20 covering 7 days.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to work in a modern, forward-thinking service. In return we offer excellent staff support systems, training and development. Although previous experience could be an advantage, it is not essential.

The successful applicant will be required to work outside of a 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday work pattern and will receive an additional payment on top of the quoted salary as a result.
