We have an exciting opportunity within the Virtual School Sensory Support (VSSS) for a Team Leader for the Vision Impairment / Multisensory Impairment Team.
The VSSS has a strong local and national reputation and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people who are blind, vision impaired and/or deaf. The service consists of Qualified Teachers, Specialist Support Assistants, the habilitation team and a technology/resources team.
Norfolk's VSSS is located within the SEND and Inclusion Service and works closely with wider SEND and inclusion teams and services across Children's Services. Within the vision / multisensory impairment team there are several Qualified Teachers, Specialist Support Assistants and Habilitation Officers.
To be successful, you will be able to evidence a strong track record in positively impacting on outcomes for children and young people with vision / multisensory impairment.
You will be a Qualified Teacher of children and young people with vision impairment / multisensory impairment and will have some experience in line management or be able to demonstrate the skills and understanding to effectively step into this role.
Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to plan creatively and work in partnership with parents, carers, educational settings and health and social care colleagues successfully are essential for this role.
This is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team within the VSSS and positively impact on outcomes for sensory impaired children and young people across Norfolk.
Norfolk County Council supports hybrid working with options to use modern, well equipped office facilities and working from home.
