Job summary

Dunottar School in Reigate and Banstead seeks a dedicated Art Department Technician to support the Department of Visual Arts. You will manage stock, equipment and resources, assist staff and students in lessons, and help prepare materials for a wide range of art processes.

The role is 0.52 FTE (25 hours per week in term time, 9:00–15:00 with a one-hour lunch). Occasional overtime around INSET days and events may be required; prior art teaching pathways or United Teaching interest is noted but

Qualifications

• Art-based degree or equivalent qualification.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to work effectively with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, equipment and resources for lessons and practical activities.
• Provide technical and practical assistance to staff and students during lessons and activities.
• Run a weekly KS3 Art Club and support students in developing their creative work.
• Maintain Art Department facilities, equipment and resources, ensuring they are clean, safe and well organised.
• Manage stock levels, carry out stock checks and place orders within the department budget.
• Coordinate displays and exhibitions and support school events and Open Evenings.
