Job summary

Forestry England is seeking a part-time Visitor Welcome Team Member to assist at the Northampton forest site. The role focuses on greeting visitors, providing information on trails and activities, and supporting the hub with payments and memberships.

You’ll help keep facilities clean and safe and learn basic health and safety in an outdoor setting. Ideal candidates enjoy customer service, have strong communication, and are comfortable with IT systems.

Qualifications

• Must have passion for great customer service and clear communication.
• Willingness to learn health and safety in an outdoor environment.
• Willing to learn IT systems including Microsoft Office.
• Cash handling experience is desirable.

Visitor Welcome Team Member - Forestry England

Northampton | Part time, 2 days a week | Saturday and Sunday | Part time | Supporting the visitor centre and welcoming visitors to the forest.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Visitor Welcome Team Member for Forestry England in Northampton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and helping visitors make the most of their time in the forest.

Key Duties

• Welcome visitors and provide friendly, clear information about trails and activities.
• Support the visitor hub with cash and card payments and promote memberships.
• Keep facilities clean, safe and inviting, including basic manual maintenance tasks.
• Learn and assist in first aid when required.
• Follow best practice for health and safety, customer care and cash handling.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks to support the visitor experience.

Requirements

• Passion for providing great customer service.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn about health and safety in an outdoor environment.
• Confidence using IT systems including Microsoft Office.
• Experience using tills or admissions systems (desirable).
• Cash handling experience (desirable).
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
