Job summary

The Natural History Museum is seeking a Visitor Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable experiences for every visitor. You will greet guests, answer questions, and help bring the galleries to life through engaging conversations.

Based on a hands-on, on-site role, you will support opening/closing, school group visits, events and the museum shop, while contributing to safety procedures and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role with a focus on delivering excellent service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for a diverse visitor base.
• Organised and proactive, with ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Team player who follows procedures and supports colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide welcoming, informative assistance.
• Answer questions and bring the galleries to life through conversation.
• Open and close the museum, support school visits and events.
• Contribute to retail activities and ensure safety including emergency procedures.
