Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking a visitor-focused role in our libraries to deliver high-quality information services to the public and enable access to collections and programmes.

You will work as part of a team, assisting visitors with enquiries, supporting IT needs, and helping deliver our events programme.

The role includes working at Breightmet Library (permanent) and Little Lever Library (fixed term 2 years), across 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with public enquiries.
• Good communication and IT skills.
• Ability to engage visitors and deliver services to the agreed standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality and responsive service for visitors and ensure access to our collections, information and programmes.
• Assist visitors with enquiries and support their IT needs.
• Play an active role in the delivery of our events programme.

The Role

This is a visitor focused role where you will be providing a high quality and responsive service for our visitors, ensuring access to our collections, information and programmes. Working as part of a team you will actively engage with our visitors helping them with their enquiries, supporting their IT needs and playing an active role in the delivery of our events programme.

About You

Do you love working with and helping people? Do you enjoy storytelling and reading to families? We are looking for friendly outgoing team players who will provide an excellent welcome to our visitors and support them to access our services. Candidates need to have a desire to engage with visitors and deliver services to the agreed standards. Good communication and IT skills are needed as you will interact helping them with enquiries
