Job summary

Priory Hospital Hayes Grove in Bromley seeks an experienced Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist to lead private inpatient, outpatient and Day Care services. You will join a respected multidisciplinary team and guide staff in best-practice care, with a pathway into private practice.

Flexible hours and brand support are available, with Priory handling admin and compliance. You will work at Priory’s Hayes Grove site in Bromley, part of a renowned mental health network offering comprehensive treatment

Qualifications

• Experience in eating disorders including NHS roles.
• GMC registration with Specialist Registration and current license to practice.
• DBS clearance (funded by Priory) and other regulatory checks.

Responsibilities

• Take clinical responsibility including multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews.
• Fulfil Responsible Clinician duties for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Support referrals and admissions, including preadmission assessments.
• Provide psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for assessment and treatment planning.
• Participate in governance meetings and contribute to service strategy.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Visiting Consultant, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

• Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
• Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
• Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.
• Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy.

Candidate Profile

• GMC registration with relevant specialist registration.
• Experience in eating disorders including at least 2 years operating within in a substantive role with the NHS.
• A strong understanding of Clinical Governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Successful completion of a DBS (funded by Priory) and other regulatory required checks.
