Agratas – A Tata Enterprise in Bridgwater, Somerset is seeking a senior Vision Systems Engineer to lead the design, development and deployment of advanced machine-vision solutions for automated inspection and quality control in battery manufacturing. The role requires hands-on integration experience and a passion for scalable, high-precision automation.

• Extensive knowledge of machine vision concepts including cameras, lighting, optics and image processing tools.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for vision applications; familiarity with ML libraries.
• Experience integrating vision systems into automated manufacturing environments, preferably in battery or electronics sectors.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain vision systems for automated inspection, measurement and quality control in battery production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy scalable vision solutions in manufacturing lines.
• Troubleshoot and optimize vision workflows to improve throughput and defect detection accuracy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, development, implementation and maintaining vision systems for automate inspection, measurement, and quality control in battery production processes

The ideal candidate will have a passion for automation and machine vision, with a strong background in engineering and hands\u0027on experience with vision system integration in a manufacturing environment. The Vision Systems Engineer will be proactive, collaborative, and capable of solving complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.

The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA\&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you\u0027ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.

What You\u0027ll Bring...

• Extensive knowledge of machine vision technologies, including camera systems, lighting, optics, and image processing tools (OpenCV, MATLAB, Halcon, etc.).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C\++, and familiarity with machine learning libraries for vision system applications.
• Experience in integrating vision systems into automated manufacturing environments, ideally in high\u0027precision industries such as battery production or electronics.
• Familiarity with smart manufacturing solutions, machine learning, IoT, and AI\u0027driven vision technologies is a plus.
• Bachelor\u0027s or Master\u0027s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing environments or automated inspection systems is strongly preferred.
