Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a Virtual School Achievement Officer to enhance progress, attainment and achievement for looked-after children. You will work closely with social workers, schools and partner services to secure better outcomes for vulnerable children.

The role focuses on supporting attendance, reducing suspensions and driving attainment, using a strengths-based approach and strong relationship-building to empower teams and families.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience working with children in vulnerable situations.
• Ability to establish professional relationships, influence and meet objectives.
• Risk identification and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and challenge to teams around looked-after children to improve outcomes.
• Facilitate collaborative working with schools and services to raise attainment.
• Promote relational approaches to build capacity and ensure children receive needed support.
