Job summary

Birmingham City Council's Virtual School is seeking an Education Advisor to support children and young people known to a social worker, both in Birmingham and beyond. The role focuses on coordinating education planning, advocacy, and collaboration with schools to ensure appropriate interventions and transitions.

The post is permanent, Grade C (£36,581 - £45,529 pro rata) for 36.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks) plus 10 days.

Responsibilities

• Act as an education advocate for a cohort of children and young people known to a social worker.
• Coordinate effective education planning and transitions for looked-after children and young people.
• Support education settings to identify interventions and implement trauma-informed practices.
• Quality assure termly Personal Education Plan processes and support Pupil Premium Plus usage.
• Collaborate with agencies and LA partners to meet welfare and educational needs.
