Job summary

MDCV UK is seeking a viticulture apprentice to join our team and participate in an apprenticeship programme through our preferred provider. You will work with the Vineyard team to oversee young vineyards, perform crop walks and assist with pruning, harvesting and daily vineyard activities.

As part of the role you will keep records, report on vineyard activities and contribute to sustainable, cost-conscious work plans while meeting weekly team meetings and embracing changes with a flexible,

Qualifications

• Comfortable speaking with clients and staff.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• A strong work ethic and willingness to travel.
• Full clean driver's license and own transport.
• Good IT and mobile application skills.
• 5 over 7 shift pattern.
• Flexibility on start and finish times upon request
• Team player and adaptable to change.
• Attend weekly team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Work with Vineyard team to oversee multiple young vineyards.
• Crop walks to inspect diseases, pests, nutrient deficiencies, phenology and health.
• Train, supervise and work with operatives during manual tasks like pruning and harvesting.
• Record and report vineyard activities to the Vineyard team.
• Collaborate on designing timely, budget-conscious and environmentally sustainable vineyard work programs.
• Help improve vineyard sustainability environmentally and financially through strong management.
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks and engage with other business activities as needed.
