Job summary

The Sun is launching a Video Apprentice role to join our fast-paced digital storytelling team. You will edit clips, research guests, and help shape creative ideas for entertainment, news and sports videos across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

You’ll work four days a week with The Sun and spend one day studying toward a fully funded NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, receiving mentorship from top editors and producers in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

Creative flair for storytelling through video and digital media.
Interest in social platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
Basic editing skills and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

Edit clips and cut social videos using Premiere Pro to suit platform formats.
Research guests across music, pop culture and social channels.
Pitch guest ideas and interview questions in team brainstorms.
Assist on shoots with gear setup and on-set tasks.
Identify viral moments and create episode notes and social assets.
Help with shoot logistics including travel, accommodation and catering.
Handle meeting notes, guest releases and call sheets.
Organise media files with clear naming and archiving.
