Job summary

Star Academies is seeking a senior leader to provide dynamic instructional leadership and management, modelling the school’s vision and values in everyday practice. You will work with the Principal and Star leaders to develop and manage curriculum, teaching and learning policies.

You will implement Star pastoral systems to secure high attendance and outstanding behaviour, and use data and benchmarks to monitor progress for every student. A degree-level qualification and QTS are essential.

• Experience in senior leadership and management within a school setting.
• Delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum policy development and teaching/learning strategies.

• Use data and benchmarks to monitor progress and inform improvements for every student.
• Coordinate smooth transition from primary to secondary with curriculum continuity.
• Keep parents informed about curriculum, attainment and progress.
• Undertake duties delegated by the Principal and cover in their absence.
• Contribute to safeguarding and equitable recruitment practices.

Job description

Support and assist the Principal by providing dynamic instructional leadership and management by sharing and modelling the school’s vision and values in everyday work and practice.

Work with the Principal and other Star leaders to ensure the very best education for the students, through achieving the organisation’s aims and objectives. In particular, to develop and manage curriculum, teaching and learning policies.

Lead the implementation of Star pastoral systems to secure high levels of attendance and outstanding behaviour.

Ensure a consistent and continuous focus on students’ achievement, with systems for recording individual student’s progress, and effective use of data and benchmarks to monitor progress in very student’s learning.

Develop and maintain high quality transition from primary schools, with curriculum continuity and maximised student progress.

Make sure parents and students are well informed about the curriculum, attainment and progress.

Undertake any professional duties delegated by the Principal and carry out the professional duties of the Principal in the event of their absence.

You will have:

A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status

Experience of senior leadership and management within a school setting

Experience of successful and sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement
