Zusammenfassung

ALTEN in Stevenage seeks an Environmental Test Engineer to join our space and environmental testing team. You will perform hands-on vibration and shock testing on space and commercial hardware inside our environmental test lab, set up equipment, record data, and report results to internal and external customers.

Ideal candidates have practical lab experience with vibration/shock testing, knowledge of sine, random and classical shock tests, and a proactive approach to calibration and safety.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on vibration testing experience in a lab/environment.
• Experience setting up and performing vibration/shock tests with equipment.
• Experience executing sine, random and classical shock tests.
• Accurate recording, processing and reporting of test data.
• Understanding of national/international testing standards and lab safety.
• Reviewing test procedures, specifications, and requirements.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.
• Methodical approach to practical testing.

Aufgaben

• Perform hands-on vibration and shock testing on space and commercial hardware using electromagnetic vibration systems and mechanical shock rigs.
• Set up and execute sine, random and classical shock tests per defined requirements.
• Complete test logs and ensure data is accurately captured and recorded.
• Post-process test data and produce clear technical test reports.
• Review procedures and provide feedback to ensure safe, effective testing.
• Manage calibration of test equipment and maintain facilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers for testing service.
• Support quotations, test scheduling and cost estimation.
• Contribute to development of test facilities to improve efficiency and capability.
