Job summary

ALTEN Group in Stevenage is seeking an Environmental Test Engineer to join our engineering team in the space and environmental testing sector. You will work in an environmental test laboratory, performing vibration and shock tests on space and commercial hardware, and supporting internal teams and customers.

The role demands hands-on testing experience, setup of vibration systems, data logging, and producing clear test reports.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on vibration testing experience in a lab or environmental test setting.
• Experience setting up and performing vibration/shock tests with systems and rigs.
• Able to record, process and report test data accurately.
• Knowledge of national/international testing standards and safe lab practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on vibration and shock tests on space and commercial hardware.
• Set up sine, random and classical shock tests per requirements.
• Complete test logs and ensure data is captured and recorded.
• Post-process data and produce technical test reports.
• Review procedures to enable safe and effective testing.
• Calibrate test equipment and support lab facilities.
